SUMMER CAMP SITE DIRECTOR

The day camp director will represent our company on the campsite(s). They will be responsible to ensure a safe and enriching environment which facilitates and enriches a great learning experience for our campers.

Responsibilities and functions:

Administrative:

  • Coordinate STEM camp programs and activities for a safe, engaging, high quality summer program.

  • Lead the team of on site instructors

  • Oversee hiring and training of all summer camp staff

  • Assist in setup - teardown of location- (ability to life approx 50lbs)

  • Provide organizational and programmatic support as necessary

  • Oversee camp recruitment and registration

  • Oversee designation of camper placement within groups

  • Maintain a positive team atmosphere that includes campers, families, camp based and office based staff, and volunteers

  • Schedule, supervise and evaluate program staff, including Lead Instructors, Instructors, CITs and volunteers, providing support and disciplinary measures when necessary.

  • Execute an organized check-in each and maintain records

  • Work with clients to address and resolve any concerns

  • Oversee and assist in determining supply and equipment needs and logistical support.

  • Ensure that Instructors and students are meeting curriculum goals

  • Enforce rules and safety regulations .

  • Hold weekly staff meetings to ensure program quality and address concerns.

  • Assist with social media and promotions as required by the regional manager.

  • Oversee and ensure overall program growth in the area.

  • Escort students to classes and dining.

  • Ensure all paperwork is uptodate

  • Ensure all staff training documents are uptodate.

Health and Safety:

  • CPR training required.

  • Must be able to perform first aid if required

  • Ensure supervision is occurring at all times.

  • Document critical incidents logs and reports.

  • Supervise medication check in/out if required by campers.

  • Must be able to handle emergency situations if required.

Instructional:

Although this job primarily is a supervisory role, a camp director needs to have the ability to act as a substitute for sick/ absent instructors as needed.

Certifications:

  • CPR/First aid training required.

  • Must pass Background check ( additional fingerprinting or other safety trainings might be required based on locations)

  • Must get familiarized with all courses, products, and software offered at the location(s)

Other:

  • Excellent social, communication, writing and computer skills

  • Experience teaching students of all ages in a variety of indoor/ outdoor settings

  • Strong commitment to teaching and an appreciation for technology

  • Must demonstrate flexibility, energy, positivity, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills

  • Works well with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Due to the nature and responsibilities of this role, candidates hired will need to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by their first day of work.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • A minimum 6 months of administrative or supervisory experience required

  • 2+ years of college preferred.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CPR/ Certification (Preferred)

  • EPA Certification (Preferred)

  • Day Shift (Required)
